The moving checklist for Hail nobody gives you
A two-week timeline covering Hail-specific access problems, compound rules, and the things you only remember after the truck has left.
Two weeks out
Confirm the move-in rules for your destination building. Newer developments in Hail require a move-in appointment, a damage deposit and proof of residency or ownership. Book the lift for a specific window if there is one. This is the stage people skip, and then they arrive on moving day and get refused at the gate.
If you are moving a car, start the inter-district transport permit now. It is administrative, not difficult, but it is not instant.
Three days out
Start with what you will not need. Donate it, sell it, or bin it. Every item you remove is money back on your quote, and a lighter load is a faster load.
Hail summers are hard on appliances. Defrost the freezer, clean it, and move it empty. Run the washing machine through a short drain cycle before it travels. Unplug and drain anything that holds water.
Photograph the meter readings, the condition of every appliance, and the condition of the walls and floors before anything is loaded. This is the evidence that protects your deposit with the landlord or the compound.
Moving day
Walk the crew through the job before they start. Point at what is fragile, what is valuable, and what must be reassembled a particular way. Ten minutes of briefing saves an hour of argument.
Keep one person with the truck. Not to supervise the crew, but to sign the inventory. The item-by-item inventory is the document that decides what happens if something is missing or damaged.
